The iGuard Security Device is a field proven Network Appliance that performs the functions of Time & Attendance and Access Control utilizing a completely self contained web server that can be accessed through any web browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, Apple, Unix or Linux Browsers).

iGuard is the world first Network Appliance for access control and time attendance applications. It supports both biometric fingerprint & Mifare contact-less smart card authentication and its administration can be done anywhere using web browser through the Internet - anytime!

The revolutionary iGuard has been setting industry standard in security access control industry since its introduction in early 1999.  It was the first Biometric Network Appliance to:

  • Store fingerprint on a contact-less smart card.
  • Employ TCP/IP as a communication protocol.
  • Employ embedded web and network server.

iGuard IP Based Security Appliance
Time/Attendance and/or Access Control.  ANY LM SERIES DEVICE may act as the master unit for the network for enrollment of up to 1000 employees.  You may inter-mix FSC (Fingerprint with Smart Card) and SC (Smart Card Only) units on the same network provided that they are al LM Series Devices.  After 1000 enrollees it is necessary to use a LM Series Super Master as the primary controlling device.
LM SuperMaster - The LM Series is the latest iGuard Security Appliance series and has many new and innovative features including the ability to add a Super Master Server Appliance that increases the capacity of users up to 20,000.
LM Series Standard - You can start with the basic series LM520FSC and have multi-factor authentication for up to 1000 employees using Mifare Smart Cards or ID Code and Fingerprint.  The LM520SC is a great smart card only time/attendance or access control device.

The iGuard Security System is a field-proven Biometrics (Fingerprint Verification), and/or Contactless Mifare Smart Card Access Control & Time Attendance Network Appliance for business.

Utilizing fingerprint authentication, the iGuard system provides unparalleled security, performance and reliability.

Unlike other security systems that require proprietary components, the iGuard incorporates an embedded Web Server, which enables all computers, such as Apple Macintosh, PCs, Unix, : in the corporate computer network to setup, maintain and access the information of the device simultaneously using the well-known Internet Browser.

The unique iGuard Security Network Appliance can be used as a stand alone security system or it can be integrated into a network wide security platform.

The iGuard Security Network Appliance is a Biometrics (fingerprint identification) and Contactless Smart Card Access Control & Time Attendance system designed for business.   Scaleable from 20 to 20,000 users, iGuard represents one of the most flexible and cost effective systems on the market today for access control or time & attendance.

The iGuard Security Network Appliance uses the most-advanced capacitive fingerprint sensor for fingerprint acquisition, to achieve the highest fingerprint-identification results in the industry. Multi-Factor Authentication utilizing fingerprints, PIN, and/or Mifare contactless smart card technology will allow your organization to positively authenticate individuals and grant or deny access based upon their credentials.

And unlike other security systems, iGuard includes the iGuard patented embedded Web Server, which enables all computers, such as Apple Macintosh, Windows PCs & Unix machines, in the corporate computer network to setup, maintain and access the information of the device simultaneously using the well-known Internet Browser.  The embedded web server and database engines allow you to focus on operating your business without the hassle of dedicating PC and server resources to run and house the data.

Each iGuard Biometric / Smart Card Security Appliance has a built-in Web Server enables all the computers in the corporate network to directly & simultaneously access the device using any Internet Browser, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer & Netscape Navigator. Different computer platforms such as Apple Macintosh, Microsoft Windows & Linux machines can access the device.

No additional software is required. So whether you are in an airport lounge or a hotel room, you can always check if your employees are already in the office or not, and you can even control, modify or disable their access rights to your office remotely via internet connection provided your iGuard Biometric / Smart Card Security Appliance is connected to an external IP address or your network is available through a VPN connection that is reachable from your location.

Patented Technologies:

As a company dedicated to innovation, design and engineering, Lucky Technology obtained the US patent for the iGuard Biometric / Smart Card Security Appliance's built-in web-interface in 2003 (US patent number 6,643,779). Our "pursuit of perfection" makes it possible for you to have the leading-edge technology of the iGuard Biometric / Smart Card Security Appliance in security and time-attendance systems --- easily.

Master/Slave Unit configuration:

Multiple iGuard Biometric / Smart Card Security Appliances can be setup as a Master/Slave network with up to a 20,000 user capability. Under this configuration, one iGuard Biometric / Smart Card Security Appliance or the iGuard Super Master would be assigned the role as the Master device, and all other iGuard Biometric / Smart Card Security Appliances are configured as slave devices.

When a user enroll in any one of these iGuard units, his / her user information, including the fingerprint information, would be replicated to all other iGuard units in the same master / slave network, so the same user does not need to enroll multiple times in order to have the access rights to all these units.

How it works -- as an Access Control System

iGuard analyzes & compares a person's fingerprint against the previously enrolled record. If the two fingerprints match, the person is authenticated. And if the time is within the authorized period for entry, the device will signal & release the electric door lock.

The iGuard Security System analyzes and compares a person's fingerprint against the previously enrolled record. If the two fingerprints match, the person is authenticated. And if the time is within the authorized period for entry, the device will signal and release the electric door lock.

  • Access Time restriction - you can define the authorized time for each individual or for a group of individuals.
  • Terminal restriction - you can specify who has the rights to access a particular terminal. It is useful in a multi-device environment, where multiple doors are controlled by different devices.
  • Password/Fingerprint Access - you can define the period in which password can be used instead of fingerprint for access. This is particularly useful if you want to just use password to access during normal office hours, but to restrict the access to authorized people only after office hours.

The Access Control Mode controls the employees from entering the business premises. The system controls the electronic door strike to lock / unlock the door. Users can be assigned to different departments and the authorized time for members in each department can also be controlled. In a multi-device environment, the access rights for each department in accessing different terminals can also be assigned.

How it works -- as a Time Attendance System

When configured as a Time Attendance System, a user can specify whether he/she is clocking-in or clocking-out. By using fingerprints to determine identity, buddy-punching problems can be totally eliminated as well as other fraud. Attendance of each employee is printed on the attendance report. The attendance report is particularly useful for payroll purposes. Wages and salaries can be paid according to the employee’s worked hours, overtime etc. Wages and salaries can be integrated with a smart card or automatic deposit payroll system.
